Lyrics
Midwinter brings a day warm and sweet like summer
The boys down on the quay are busy making plans
The girls are out to see us off and the nets are in good order
And it’s a grand day for the fishing
We’ve packed the ice on board and set out through the harbour
I don’t need a chart to point me on my way
I grew up on this boat and I’m sure I now these waters
We’ve had a run of luck and she’s bulging with the cargo
We’ll set the market price if the weather holds today
The boys are singing and the wind is keeping tempo
