Shadows falling from the trees
I take the path in front of me
Something in the dark wood stirs
I whip the reins and I hold the turn

When I’m lost she sets me right
Her voice is heard within the sound of everything
She draws me to the light
And I’ll run to her

Forty days in the wilderness
I’ve tasted blood and I’ve paid my debt
But from the sorrow and the strain
I’ve learned to walk without the pain

I’ve crossed the river of despair
It won’t be long and I’ll be there
Another mile along to ride
And then I’ll have her by my side
