The gale is rising, tear drops fall
In the quiet you can hear her mourn
He left her standing alone on the shore
And still she’s waiting for his return

Roll on, the years roll on
Roll on, the wheel rolls on

Dark and winding is the path she walks
Shame and hiding behind the door
You can hear her weeping, feel the cold
She longs to see him, she longs to hold him

I walk beside her, she never knows
I move right through her, far but close
On the day I left her I swore that I’d come home
But the ocean thunders and she claims her own
